I just spent the better part of a day trying to get my computer to allow me to use stereo mix which Vista had disabled and my stupid sound card had completely masked. Well, I've just worked it out after trying about a million different drivers! Although it's not Vista's fault, really, they did try to hide it by primarily disabling it. Grrrrr, so annoying! So, who here has Vista? What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? Is it that much better than XP? I was liking it until today, where it let me down. It claims to have superior media capabilities as well and it disables one the most vital things (for me)! Nevermind, I'll get over it now that I've sorted it out Your thoughts?

I don't own Vista, but I may own it 6-7 months from now since I'll be buying a laptop around my birthday.
I seriously hope all those rumors about Vista aren't truth. Even if they are, I hope 6-7 month's worth of updates give me a better product when I buy it. May just stick with XP if Vista fails.

Vista is good, I haven't really had any problems but I can't see that it's a drastic improvement over XP.

The interface looks good, and some of the multimedia capabilities seem fun. Can't see much else aside from that myself, so I have to agree with you on there being no major changes over XP. Of course, I don't own a Vista so I may not know about some... so if you own it and know of something huge over XP, let us know.

In some aspects I want Vista because of the overall look, but at the same time I don't want to give up my XP. I'm used to the XP problems I encounter from time to time and I know how to handle them. lol

I've had vista for a few days now and I haven't had a problem. It's very easy and the icons are huge.

I have a desktop PC at home with VISTA, no problems yet. I heard it's best to stick with your XP, VISTA has some bugs that show up after a long time.
I also heard that they might make a new windows application but don't know when(it's only a rumor so far). The only cool thing is that VISTA has see-through icons, N the task bar has this circle windows Start button... N the task bar can be see-through*ooooh*... LATEZ...

Yeah, I suppose the good thing about having Vista is we might get to see new things arise over time. Other than that, as you say, it's not that much different but the see-through icons etc are pretty cool
